About CARES

Over the course of the pandemic, the County of Los Angeles has leveraged CARES Act funding to support the health and well-being of its residents and communities through a wide range of programs—from diagnostic testing and contact tracing to food distribution, rent relief, support for businesses and investments in technology to help bridge the digital divide.

Los Angeles County and its partners have provided support to thousands of workers and small businesses to help them navigate one of the most challenging economic periods in our recent history. This work continues to ramp up as the COVID-related economic turmoil continues. Most recently, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors approved an additional $25 million in CARES Act funding to support small businesses and nonprofits affected by COVID-19 on November 10, 2020.
